We get it – who isn’t a lover of travel, vacation rentals and the space it provides in our soul.

Enter Jim, one of our founders. As an owner, he listed a rental property through a number of online vacation rental websites. In the beginning everything was great, but over time, the rules changed. Enter complex refund policies, new fees for both the homeowner and the guest, and lackluster customer service.

Someone needed to put the power back into the hands of the hosts and the people who wanted to plan a fantastic vacation. Enter a team of experts who are passionate about the vacation rental industry and solving complex problems. Today VacayMyWay has created the platform to make vacation planning simple.

Who We Are

VacayMyWay is a privately owned online travel agency/vacation rental marketplace headquartered in Denton, Texas. Started in 2019 by Jim Stewart, Ted Hight, and Billy Smith then commercialized in 2024 by industry veteran Mike Mears (Vrbo, Expedia) the team at VacayMyWay is comprised of experienced executives, travelers, and hosts. A combination of talent spanning over 75 years of vacation and travel industry expertise.

VacayMyWay was created with the traveler and host in mind – lower costs to guests and no fees for hosts, thanks to a wholesale pricing model. With a focus on unfiltered communication between guests and hosts, Vacay brings trust and transparency to vacation rental travel. Our goal is to return to the fundamentals, and joy, of planning vacations by simplifying the process.
